Disney shop - Kings & Queens Roermond

Bij de naam ‘Disney’ denken de meeste mensen aan de vele Disneyfilms, die er door de jaren heen gemaakt zijn en aan de Disney pretparken gelegen in Frankrijk, Amerika en Azië. Het wereldberoemde Disney-imperium werd opgericht door Walt Disney (Walter Elias Disney). Hij werd geboren op 5 december 1901 in Los Angeles, Amerika. De man was filmproducent, filmregisseur, scenarioschrijver, stemacteur, animator, zakenman, entertainer en internationaal filmicoon. Het meest bekende personage dat Walt Disney bedacht en tekende is ongetwijfeld Mickey Mouse. Wat veel mensen niet weten, is dat Mickey niet het eerste karakter was dat Walt tekende... dat was Boris Boef. Walt tekende Mickey niet alleen, maar sprak ook jarenlang z'n stem in. Maar tal van onsterfelijke karakters kwamen uit z'n brein... Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto, Knabbel en Babbel om er maar enkele te noemen. In 1937 kwam de allereerste animatiefilm van de Walt Disney Studios uit: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Er zouden er nog heel veel volgen. Wie is er niet opgegroeid met films als: Beauty & the Beast, Cinderella, Dumbo, Pinocchio en natuurlijk de laatste kaskraker... Frozen. Walt Disney stond ook aan de bakermat van het allereerste pretpark dat z'n naam draagt... Disneyland in Californië en joeg ook z'n droom voor Walt Disney World na. Helaas heeft hij de opening daarvan niet meegemaakt. Hij overleed op 15 december 1966. Met z'n overlijden stopte de magische Disney-wereld niet. Tot op de dag van vandaag komen er nieuwe films en musicals uit en zijn er nog 4 internationale parken (resorts) bijgekomen in Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong en Parijs. Kings & Queens in Roermond heeft zich ontpopt tot een mini Disney Shop / Disney Store.
