Ratatouille is a Disney Pixar animated film that tells the story about the Parisian rat Rémy. He has a gift for flavors and dreams of becoming a great French top chef. However, his family is reluctant to see this happen and sees food as a way to survive. He ends up at the restaurant of his idol, the chef Auguste Gusteau. Auguste, however, appears to have died, but in Remy’s imagination his ghost regularly appears to assist him. In the restaurant’s kitchen, Rémy befriends intern Alfredo Linguini, who, however, has no sense of cooking or baking. Hidden under Linguini’s chef’s hat, the rat helps him prepare the most delicious dishes. One such dish is Ratatouille, a French dish with slices of zucchini, carrot, eggplant, onion and herbs. When this dish is presented to the critical reviewer Anton Ego, he is absolutely lyrical. The ailing restaurant gains another star and regains enormous popularity.
