WINNIE THE POOH

Winnie the Pooh. Writer A. A. Milne named the character Winnie the Pooh after a teddy bear owned by his son, Christopher Robin Milne, on whom the character Christopher Robin was based. Shepard in turn based his illustrations of Pooh on his own son’s teddy bear, Growler, rather than Christopher Robin’s bear. The rest of Christopher Milne’s toys – Piglet, Eeyore, Kanga, Roo and Tigger – were included in Milne’s stories. Two other characters, Owl and Rabbit, were created by Milne’s imagination, while Gopher was added to the Disney version. Winnie the Pooh exists in 2 variants…. the Classic variant, based on Shepard’s drawings and the Disney variant. Both Pooh’s are very popular and can be found on numerous merchandise. Several movies were released of the Disney Pooh and attractions were created in the Disney parks.

DISNEY TRADITIONS BY JIM SHORE

Disney Traditions by Jim Shore includes some of the figurines designed and released annually by the noted American Folk Art artist. Jim Shore grew up in rural South Carolina, the son of artistic parents. They instilled in him a love of American folk art. His grandmother was a master quilter who taught him the patience and skill to bring intricate designs to life. Jim worked for decades to develop his craft and produce his own designs. He traveled the country selling his work. Finally, in 2001, he partnered with Enesco to found Heartwood Creek. The successful brand gave Jim worldwide exposure. Disney Traditions by Jim Shore is one of the most popular and sought-after brands he produces. Jim Shore holds the licenses for well-known brands such as Disney, Harry Potter, Peanuts, M&M’s and The Grinch.
