NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS

The Nightmare Before Christmas is een stop-motion animatiefilm uit 1993 van Tim Burton.
Het vertelt het verhaal van Jack Skellington, de koning van Halloween Town. Halloween Town wordt bevolkt door monsterlijke karakters.
Jack komt per ongeluk in Christmas Town terechtkomt en van plan is om de feestdag over te nemen. Terug in zijn eigen stad probeert hij de bewoners uit te leggen wat Kerstmis is.
Wanneer hij het trio Lock, Shock en Barrel de opdracht geeft de Kerstman naar Halloween Town te brengen, leveren zij de Kerstman uit aan hun leider Oogie Boogie. Jack’s geliefde Sally probeert de Kerstman te bevrijden, maar wordt zelf gevangen genomen.
Uiteindelijk is het Jack die de Kerstman en Sally redt uit de handen van Oogie Boogie.
The Nightmare Before Christmas is uitgegroeid tot een ware cultfilm met een eigen schare fans.
