WINNIE THE POOH

Writer A. A. Milne named the character Winnie the Pooh after a teddy bear owned by his son, Christopher Robin Milne, on whom the character Christopher Robin was based. Shepard in turn based his illustrations of Pooh on his own son’s teddy bear, Growler, rather than Christopher Robin’s bear. The rest of Christopher Milne’s toys – Piglet, Eeyore, Kanga, Roo and Tigger – were included in Milne’s stories. Two other characters, Owl and Rabbit, were created by Milne’s imagination, while Gopher was added to the Disney version. Christopher Robin’s toy bear is on display at the main branch of the New York Public Library in New York City.

Winnie the Pooh exists in 2 variants…. the Classic variant, based on Shepard’s drawings, and the Disney variant. Both Pooh’s are very popular and can be found on numerous merchandise. Several movies were released of the Disney Pooh and attractions were created in the Disney parks.

Funko Inc. is an American company that produces licensed and limited pop culture collectibles, known for its vinyl figurines and bobbleheads.
