Max Emilian Verstappen (Hasselt, September 30, 1997) is a Dutch-Belgian racing driver. He drives under the Dutch flag in Formula 1 for the Red Bull Racing team. On December 12, 2021, Verstappen became the first ever Dutch Formula World Champion. He clinched his world title in 2022, 2023 and 2024. Verstappen started karting at the age of four. He was allowed to participate in karting races from the age of seven. In 2014, he made the switch to motor racing. On March 15, 2015, he made his Formula One debut at the GP of Australia. With this, at the age of 17 and 166 days, he became the youngest debutant ever in Formula One. Because of Verstappen’s success in Formula 1, public interest in the sport increased in the Netherlands. This led to Formula 1 returning to the Circuit van Zandvoort in September 2021.
